In the orbitz booking confirmation email, there is an Airline Record Locator. It's 6 digits, alphanumeric. That's the airline confirmation number. You can use that to pull up your reservation at the airline's website. You may have better luck changing your seats there instead of on orbitz. Or you can just call the airline. You can pick your seat on most airlines. And if you have elite status, you can even pick front of coach cabin and exit rows seats.
