can he make it to CT to play a few games with us coming up? All teams make the playoffs, even though we have only 1 win LOL any extra boost would help
well...some sad news out of our hockey game last night...Mine and Ant's team, the Gladiators, was eliminated from the playoffs Had a lead, and then decided to take the last 15 minutes of the game off...quite disappointing
yes yes this is both very true and sad lol ...... but how does a team at 1-9 make the playoffs anyway our next endeavor: ice hockey in the fall!
Just about that time of the year again kids!!! Preseason starts for the Pens September 15th....time to start planning that victory parade in the Burgh again
***Another Proud Aunt Alert*** My nephew Michael had an impressive debut in the season opener with his new team in Canada, the London Knights. He just turned 17 yrs old last Sunday. They beat the Windsor Spitfires 4 - 2. He had 44 shots on goals against him, and only gave up 2 goals. That's pretty darn good !!! The Knights had 19 shots on goal against the Spitfires. http://lfpress.ca/newsstand/Sports/Hockey/2009/09/19/pf-10991031.html The Windsor Spitfires won the Memorial Cup last year (the equivalent of the Stanley Cup at that level of hockey) He stopped Taylor Hall on a breakaway, who is expected to be the # 1 draft pick next year. After the game, 3 NHL scouts talked to him in the locker room.....from the Nashville Predators, NY Islanders, & Colorado Avalanche. He's eligible for the draft in 2010. Keep your fingers crossed that he continues to play well and stays healthy. I'd love to see his dream of playing professional hockey become a reality.
I can tell ya, if he's playing for London, there's a GREAT chance he's going to the NHL lol. Such a great organization, with a great history, I'm quite impressed. Again, just remember about the autographs and season tickets to us little people when he does   In all seriousness, that's awesome...44 shots in his first game?!?! woww good on him. Sorry it took me so long to respond, didn't see this post haha. Hockey has officially started as of last night! Wooooooooo what a night of games too. Saw one of my favorite players of all time (Joe Sakic) finally get his calling to the rafters in Colorado, what a ceremony, certainly brought a tear to the eye. Then the Avs did work to the Sharks in surprising fashion. Tonight is the main event though. LETS GO PENGUINS!!!!
Indeed....they put on a hell of a show for Super Joe from beginning to end. It was nice to see the kids step up and perform on such a special night. I was also greatly impressed with the new look coaching staff, which led to much more tenacity in getting to the puck. Fletch...condolences on Granato added to the Pens staff. He was hated by Avs fans...TWICE!!!
ugh, you're telling me....I boo'ed him while they were doing the stanley cup banner raising last night...not looking forward to a season with him on the payroll. Hopefully it works a bit better for us though
