Agree with most of your report. We were there briefly from the 15th - 18th. Our first room had no A/C or hot water. They moved us that evening to a room with working A/C and no hot water. (I get the soft opening, but even a Motel 6 can guarantee you hot water.) We never did get hot water and on the last night the water quit completely for a few hours. Same issues with the blinds getting jammed, etc. Loved the new overall design, but it was sometimes more form over function. We loved the entertainment staff despite ( or perhaps because of) their youthful exuberance (and we ain't young). The staff in general was awesome. Loved the SHE restaurant. Not the place to go if you're in a hurry, but it was a unique experience. On the night we went they served 9 small courses (kind of like tapas), and by the 6th we were wondering if we could finish! Each was like a little work of art IMHO. I guess everyone has different tastes since we also know people who didn't like it. The seafood restaurant was good too. Miss the beach beds and hammocks. We were disappointed in the spa not being ready and the fact that the couples massage went up from $250 to $395! We passed on it. Had an awesome time for about 48 hours, but not as great as last year. I hope they get it together, but they probably shouldn't have tried opening so soon, as they clearly were not ready.
I guess one thing I do have to say that made me uncomfortable was when I went back to room to use the bathroom, housekeeping was in there and also a security person was going through all our things. I asked if there was a problem and they said no and asked then if it was ok if he was ruffling through my stuff. What was I suppose to say!? I said no, peed and left. Going through a guest stuff needs to be reported. Not blaming it on the resort because they have no way of knowing unless its reported. Those people need to be fired!
"Security" going through our stuff would have ended badly. I sure hope that you take the opportunity to report this incident. That is unacceptable. Thanks for the heads up.
So...im at the resort now. Its been raining for 3 days. this is our 4th or 5th trip. We arrived 8/31 and are leaving on 9/5. Thought I would share some of the current situation since I just read through this thread. Agree with the original review. We are in the old garden view on the non-quiet side. Room is pretty but not functional. No drawers in the nightstand so our toys and lube are all for display. Not shy so that doesnt matter but illustrates they went for design and aesthetics and not function. When we arrived we dropped our luggage and got an orientation for like 20 min. Went back to get the luggage and they had lost it (actually gave it to someone else and took to their room). Not a good start but I was just happy to be here and wanted a drink. They returned our luggage in a half hour or so; right before we were just going to the pool in our underwear. The food is awesome; buffet included. I love that they wheel a mimosa cart around in the AM to serve and its very good. Not Dom but not Andre either. The shows have been a highlight. Dont miss them even if you are tired or horny. We skipped one for sex and wish we had held off.LOL. Since its raining there's been a lot of visits and activity in the sports bar. Staff have been awesome and though Im an older guest (not 20s), I felt very comfortable playing champagne pong and dancing with them. Although I know its a soft opening the one downer has been that the big hot tub has been closed for 4 days now and no sign of opening-- water is cold. I am going to ask them about it at this point since its the only place the wife will go in the cold rain here. Dont want to make this a total negative report. We love this place regardless and the rain has increased the sex in my case. I either need some sunshine now or to run to the pharmacy for some boost (viagra). Participation in the theme nights has been good and the resort seems only about 40% full. They are still working all the time on the unfinished areas as well as the leaks from the rain. Will add more to this later. See you all at the sexy pool!
No, there wasn't an explanation why he was there. Since I was a "bit" intoxicated and asked if there was a problem, and he said No, I decided it was best to leave and not start anything. The worst he could have found were my "toys", my slut gear and heart burn pills.. lol!
