My hubby likes to dress casual and feels most comfortable in shorts and flip flops. Is this attire appropriate for dining at night? We would love to pack light and would prefer not to have to pack dress shoes and slacks if it can be avoided.
We are getting ready for trip number 3 and I've worn nothing but flip flops to all the restaurants. Never been an issue. Now they are not beach type flip flops, they are nice leather flip flops but they are still flip flops. Shorts are fine too, just not board shorts/swim trunk type shorts.
Depends on the maƮtre 'd and the night, dress code is long pants and closed toed sandals for the gents as well as button down shirts. Having said that there have been nights when people have gotten in with dress shorts ( Tommy Bahamas shorts) and sandals but I've also seen them turned away. Occasionally the owner of the resort stops by for dinner, and rules tighten right up. You can always chance it, I'd suggest you pack a pair of linen pants for him as well as closed toed sandals just in case he has to go back to the room and change better to be safe than sorry.
We were newbies too in Jan of this year, I can tell you it's the most fun, relaxed, non judgemental place you will ever go!! Every body type etc is loved and feels like home! We had such an amazing time we booked again for Novrmber 12-19th, not too mention we are now full members of the resort and already booked our third time for Decrmber 28-Jan4th! You will love it, it's exciting! Just getting ready to have an incredible time!!
