First timers in November.... getting nervous!

We will be there the same week. You won't be nervous long. You will meet some of the friendliest people around!

 

Dont be nervous. Yeah, you'll probably see a few things you may not see at the Riu, and you may even end up participating in something you normally wouldnt, but all in all you'll have a great time, and make some new, cool friends.

Sometimes the "24/7, all out wild party", gets overblown quite a bit. You can act as wild, or as mild as you want. Plenty of both to go around.

Its a great adult party second to none though!!

 

That's a good point that sometimes there is a lot of talk about the party, but it's more than that; it's the people. It's been so easy to meet people and make friends there, and it's so non-judgmental. Whether you want to just relax, hang out by the pool with a cold drink and people watch, or go full-in with everything there is going on you can feel free to do so and you'll have a great time. We don't get much sleep during our trips, but we sure are refreshed in every way thanks to the people we meet and the times we share. We always come home wanting more, and missing the friends we've made.

 

So can with bubba mug do you have to bring your own alcohol or will the bars poor into your mug?

 

They will fill your mug for you over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over AGAIN!

Ok so before I read Everyone else's replies and seeing we just returned last Tues. and I was just as nervous trying to anticipate what would happen, here is my take on it:

We didn't want to end up with the first day curse of partying to hard to fast so upon our arrival and getting our room we went and ate at the Mexican place first...this is the one right next to the square sports pool. Now that food was in us, (and we did this everyday - food first) we headed to the sexy pool and had some fun. The day we arrived it was raining, my top stayed on as I was shivering in the pool! lol

Take your time and if you're comfortable removing it then do so if not then leave it on, there were plenty that didn't take it off, and more that did! lol Mine came off the next day. If the ladies haven't seen the sun Ever, PLEASE take my advice and use LOTS of Sunscreen!!! I ended up with 2nd degree burns on the tops of mine where the water reflected!! Not fun!!

As for the theme nights they are a blast!! The more that partake the better but if you are in the minority and only a few are dressed make the most of it and be the center of attention......trust me if you stand out more will come to talk with you, we had many dressing up. But if you are uncomfortable you can always go change, no one will say a thing.

The one thing I did learn and realize Very quickly when they say people here are non-judgmental it's really, really true!! "No one knows you and no one gives a shit!!" You can truly reinvent yourself if you wish, so I suggest you go out of your comfort zone, say hello to everyone and just take it all in.

To answer some of your questions: Bottoms necessary at the pools, tops optional, where a nice sexy dress or casual top and shorts to dinner!! What ever you're comfortable with for both of you. The Asian and Italian you need reservations and are a bit more dressy. If you get the chance to go to the Italian ORDER the SEXY COFFEE you won't be disappointed!!!!! Then go back to the room and change into Theme outfits...go have fun!! Nothing really starts until 9-9:30 if shows are at Nice shoes and 10-10:30 at PattyO's so you have plenty of time between dinner and later fun!

Our theme night outfits were all matching and fun, but I will admit that a full day of drinking and sun will hit you hard and there were some nights that we just got dinner and then stayed in and made our Own fun!! If hubby doesn't want to dress he doesn't have to but it's more fun when they do!! The only theme night he'd have to partake in is lingerie night at nice shoes, they won't let him in if he's not in at least boxers!! Other than that he can dress as he wishes.

It's really not the place that makes this vacation so much fun, it's the PEOPLE so get to know some on here by chatting A LOT!! Check out their pics and learn their real names through private chats. (some don't like to post them) whatever the case. We met everyone we chatted with on here but one couple and that's because they had an emergency and never made it! If someone arranges a toy party join in, it's lots of fun or try to start one!! Start a thread with dates that your going and ask a daily question see what answers you get, engage yourself....and Have a blast!! When you get there and you think you recognize someone ASK them are you so and so on Cancuncares?? Great conversation starter if they're not Tell them about it!!

So in other words you only get what you give....if you make very little or few posts and don't make many friends then your experience may not be what your expectations are expecting! Put yourselves out there I truly hope your first time is as Fabtabulous as ours was!!

Oh and don't worry if you bring the huge 52oz bubba and think I may have just drained the bar of whatever drink of your choice. You need not worry the bar never runs out. I've been there and have seen quite a few attempts by people over the years but they've never been able to do it. Bartenders seem to have this never ending bottle. It looks like there's only 6 or so ounces left then magically as if they switched out its full again. Go have a good time hope your husband dresses up along with you makes you partners in crime for the night but if you feel like taking a night off from the themes do that its your holiday. And it's topless optional so that means if you want to take your top off you have that option again no pressure. My lovely lady took hers off ten minutes into our first trip poolside. And she will wear it to the pool for the first day until I say why bother it comes right off when we hit poolside anyway. She wears her cover up to breakfast and I hang her top from the balcony to get some sun. That way it feels part of the holiday too. LOL.
