That musty, slightly damp smell... every trip I bring at least one article of clothing that I don't end up wearing. Typically when we get home I dump the entire contents of my suitcase in the laundry hamper but I guess last time I must have put a t-shirt away that was still folded and clean. Weeks later I wore it and there was an overwhelming sense of being at TTR as it still had a slight "Mexico" smell to it, despite being in a drawer full of items that smelled of "spring Morning" or whatever scent they've concocted. We've vacationed in the Caribbean several times and I think every place has that smell, it's not unpleasant but if you come from a place with no humidity, like Calgary, it's noticeable.
So here's the deal: We have been to Cancun many times plus we live on the Texas gulf coast. Where there is constant moisture there is that smell. Some worse than others. We have stayed at Temptations quite a few times and have never had a "bad" time. We keep going back. We love the staff and have met some really great people there. I am the worrier of our bunch so trust me just relax and enjoy your vaca. It will be great.
No reason to worry. You can't do anything about if anyway. Go in with low expectations and you'll love it

You'll have a blast, we never had a problem with our room last year. Stays damp, the porn channel works all the time. Don't put your head underwater in Sexy pool until you are too drunk to worry. We're there on Monday, can't wait. First time returning to the same resort twice. It can be that much fun. Cheers and order a few wet pussies they take the edge off.
i usually bring some incense with me to give the room a pleasant smell...but the slight musty smell really is that bad.
I am a super smeller, and I love that Caribbean smell. When I get home and find clothes I haven't washed since our last trip it just takes me right back there. It's definitely there though so if it's going to bug you, febreze or incense should make it better. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with the hotel for what it is. Any issues we've had (broken sink, an enormous bug) were always dealt with right away and really were minor issues.
I feel the same way. When I'm at TTR, it's so easy to be in a constant good mood that any small inconvenience that comes up just doesn't matter.
I was the same way the first time we booked, but even after falling and cracking my rib 3 hours into our vacation (the alcohol had NOTHING to do with that..lol) It still was the best vacation of our lives! You should have a blast! Their motto is " Nobody knows you, and nobody gives a shit!) Have a great time!
