Louisville KY, we're in Frankfort. We're going in December for our first time. Can't wait to read your follow up. Best Wishes and safe travels.
Here's what I tell people... If your room is clean, the floor is dry, the AC works well, and you are okay with the location, stay there. But no worries... Its a great hotel with an amazing staff.
No need to worry!!! Once you get there you will careless about how old the hotel is believe me!!! The musty smell has been in about every hotel I have ever been to in Mexico because of the humidity, I suggest putting dryer sheets in you luggage to keep you clothes smelling fresh for your trip. As for the hot water on two separate trips I have thought our hot water did not work when in fact the only problem with the water was user error, the knobs turn different than at home (like stated above). I have never had a problem with the cleanliness, or the staff both have always been amazing!!
The restaurant food was great but the buffett was sooooo unimaginative!! Restaurant booking all fortnight for us lol
Never had any complaints and I'm on the OCD side of things. Housekeeping cleans the room up nice and in the two times I've been I've never seen anything remotely close to some of the bad reviews I read on tripadvisor prior to my first time. My 0.02 See ya there!
no worries you are usually not in your rooms too much anyway only for sex. and when you pass out from drinking too much. lol
I've never had any issues at all with anything in the room...A/C, water, etc. The staff is amazing - from the restaurant and bar to housekeeping. As others have mentioned - the musty smell you hear about is due to the climate's high humidity. For me though, that's as much a part of Mexico as the good times I always have. I notice it the moment I step off the plane, and I'm conditioned to smile when it hits me. It's my signal that I'm in my home away from home. My mom was one of those worrier types - you'll love everything about your vacation...Have fun!!
