Me and my friend spent $1500 total on air+hotel. About another $800-1000 while there. That includes jungle tour (2), The City (2), DaddyO (1), O Ultra lounge, food, drinks, smokes, tips, viagra, airport trans, etc. Not bad for a 6 day, 2 person trip.
alright that doesnt sound bad at all. any recomendations on who to use to book the flight and hotel. travelocity, expedia, or doing it yourself. airfare and hotel for 1100 or 1200 is awsome, everyplace I go the hotel stay alone is 1100-1400. And thats the flamingo and the oasis. I checked airfare and from philly to cancun is usually around $460.
don't be afraid to try other sites as well. kayak.com bookingbuddy.com vacationexpress.com cheapcaribbean.com bookit.com (excellent rates, and if near spring break try springbreak.bookit.com - they have special rates, different than their usual rates) plenty more.
orbitz currently has a $100 off a 5 night package coupon (http://www.orbitz.com/App/PerformMDLPDealsContent?deal_id=active_oa&cnt=PRO). When I booked 2-3 months ago, there was a $200 off coupon.
