We have never been to Temptation before - and never to an adult's only resort before either. We are really looking forward to it!
We have been on a lot of sunny vacations before kids and after (but with them) - this will actually be my (Crystal) 17th or 18th time to Mexico.
The way we feel is that a trip, no matter where you stay 2 star or 5 star, what sunny location it is and how long you go for - it is what you make of it. We had a time in Mexico and the DR where it rained straight for 3 days (knock on wood that doesn't happen this time) - but we did not let it ruin our vacation; because that is exactly what it is - a place to get away from it all, be somewhere new, meet new people and have the best possible time you can.

I have to say, you are very perceptive! I have enjoyed every trip I have ever been on, and probably am over thinking what she would enjoy most. I was thinking of Royal Cancun and a day pass to the big party at Temptation......really fun seems to trump all![/QUOTE]

If you do that, make the day pass late in the stay so you don't find yourself sitting at the Royal wishing you were at TTR. :)

I had a quick look at the website and the Royal Cancun certainly looks nice and very high end. But I'm thinking it might cost double?

It's "Adult Only" which is a must for me on vacation. I stayed once at the Moon Palace. Very nice place...huge..with great restaurants, golf course, etc. but I could have done without the kids running around the lobby bar, buffets and pool...lol.

Like Jamie says, you can have the quiet time or the party time at TTR. TTR is a perfect size resort too. Lots of great people around to meet and no trouble running into those you really click with.

We're biased here. Most of us have been to lots of other places and had a good time but we all love TTR.

I know TTR doesn't have a great beach and if you want to show your girlfriend a nice beach there are plenty of great places in Cancun. But, my wife (girlfriend the first time we went, Blue Bay then) and I have done the split trip a couple of time and always were so dissapointed when it was time to go to the next resort. And when we were at the next resort we were always thinking why did we leave TTR when we were having such a good time with all the great people we had just met.

That being said I would advise you to go to the other resort first and then come to TTR then you wont be thinking why did we leave when we were having so much fun.

Regardless of what you decide you can count on having a fantastic time at TTR.

The Royal is about 800 more for both of us, but I could certainly do a couple great beach days and save tons and have the fun of TTR. I have been to the Moon Palace too, great place with a terrible beach. I hope TTR is better than that one.

No the beach at TTR is not better than Moon Palace. For me personally I think the beach at TTR is not good at all. I don't go to TTR for the beach, its everything else there that is great. If you want a beautiful beach with the crystal blue water, than TTR will disappoint you IMHO.

That seems to be what I think as well. For me it's a no brainer, I live near the beach in Florida and have seen many great Caribbean beaches so TTR sounds perfect. It's my gf that I want to be blown away by Mexican beaches.......

I don't think there is anything wrong with the beach at TTR. As Jamie said, it's the water that would be the dissappointment as it isn't the crystal blue that you would hope for. It is darker in colour b/c of the seaweed.

Personally, it's not a big deal. Hop on the bus and go to the free public beach!
