Wow, great thread. Went to BBG before this site was started. Found the site and saw all the posts about the repeater weeks in May. Jamie was in Fort Worth and called us up and we had dinner with him and Mikey. It was there he convinced us to show up for 2005. That was the year of my favorite booze cruise at Club O or Club G or whatever it was. Steve was still on the other side of the pond on my first trip after finding the site. He was leaving on the day I arrived and didn't find him. The next year we finally met. Thanks to Steve and Jannett that I have friends that I see and talk to regularly from this site. We have had some great get togethers in the U.S. that I wish they could have attended. Thanks again to yall, (hey, I am from TX) for creating and maintaining the vehicle that allows us all to meet and stay in touch. James and Kristy
Thanks Steve, and everyone for all your coments, just thought it would be interesting to find out any funny and interesting stories on meeting people you have been chatting to on here before arriving at BBG/ Temptations, we have lost count of the number of people who come up to us and say "your Dave and sue from cancuncare", and this April coming we have around 20 couples already arriving around the same time, with more to book some of which are now life long friends. We’ve met a lot of great people from the board in person. I’m not going to try to list because I might forget somebody and some of the ones that we were closest to are no longer on the board. Our first trip in 2003, we met a great couple from Canada. We’ve vacationed with them (with kids) to Disney World, Canada and Texas. Unfortunately, they divorced and it has been difficult for us to get together with them because of the situation. We’ve been to two different CancunCare stateside reunions. One was in Dallas and one was in Houston. Great times. Great friends. Marsh
We arrived by chance, making a booking on a suggestion from a client. We never checked it out much , arrived the first time and started out a little out of our element. We met two couples the second day from our area at home. Along with an absolutely hilarious time they told us of the board. On the couple of subsequent trips we used the site to pre meet people to hang with and they all have turned out great. We really were blessed to meet Sue and B&B and especially Steve and his wife. Life will never quite compare after Steve took Sue and some of us out on a VIP bar hop (sorry to the lads from the UK for the girls behaviour). We have not been back in several years but return here frequently to post and keep Sue out of trouble!!!
Gee Steve, I can't believe you didn't mention us. We met you on the other board and came along with Normskid and Karan to your site. In fact we were the ones who picked May as the first union meeting (now of course it a reunion). That was the first time a group of us intentionally wen't together (we brought Kim and Steve along). We did the pirates cruise nad drank a bit much. But anyway about the thread. We were on our honeymoon and met a guy from England who was on his honeymoon. We chatted on the other board his name was Andy Wheels. I told him about the time we would arrive and when I walked in he jumped up and yelled you must be Jim and Kathy! We had a ball that week, became premier members and constant repeaters. We're coming down in May again this year for the reunion. Jim

The first time I went to BBG I had no idea what it was about other than it was adult only (I don't have kids and don't want to vacation with yours) and all inclusive (I love to sail and the hobies were included). Needless to say it was the first vacation that I ever got on the plane home, pulled out the brochure and on the runway in Cancun started figuring out when we could come back. That being said, we were back in six months, hoping the cast would be the same. We all acknowledge that it's the people that make BBG/TTR so great but it's the cast and staff that creates the environment that allows/forces us to mix it up. These same people go to other hotels and we don't act the same there... Anyway... So when we had to wait a year before going back I was getting real nervous that I was paying $2,500 for two weeks someplace that might not still be fun... So I went searching and found this place. After about 6 months Steve and I figured out that we had met at the resort. The next time we went was at a May reunion and we had a list of folks we were looking for. The rest as they say is history. We do run into a lot of lurkers on this site that go but don't post.. I don't know how you can do that... but they do come up and say hi. There has been some great first meeting stories posted here in the past. I think one of the best was pulled off by Norm's Kid. But personally I really enjoy meeting folks here and then saying hi in person there. It really greases the skids going into vacation! Jamie
I FOUND IT I JUST STARTED SEARCHING REVIEWS OF THE RESORT. HAVEN'T BEEN THERE AND HAVEN'T BEEN TO A RESORT THATS ADULTS ONLY! I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT BOOKING THIS BECAUSE OF THE ADULT THEME. WE ARE PARENTS OF 4 KIDS SO OUR VACATIONS AREN'T ADULT THEMED. SO I SEARCHED ALL OVER AND WAS LED HERE. GLAD I WAS. I HAVE READ A LOT OF THE THREADS AND SEE THAT THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT WERE PROBABLY JUST LIKE ME. NOW I AM EXCITED RATHER THAN NERVOUS. HOPE TO MEET A LOT MORE PEOPLE BETWEEN NOW AND JAN. THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT INPUT!!!!!!
