Got a text message from the BF saying that there was a procession today and that the firefighters were buried today as well.
Cancun Canuck seems to have all the facts as I have heard them. We talked to a policeman yesterday on the way home from the airport and he told us. Drove by the mall last night and it shut down 100% although you can see some security lighting. Police and fire vehicles very noticable. Today about noon the streets were packed at the fire station on Tulum at Chichen Itza. They were going to have a memorial or something. At 4' something we heard many many sirens for 10-15 minutes so there most likely was a funeral procession. My friend Eddie and I are going to go to the fire station and see what we can do to help the families in some way, probably just to help with expenses in some way.
