I haven't verified availability for 10 days mid May or our exact Premier rate for 2016. Going with $165 USD / night for the low season rate on an ocean view room (the room type in our contract), which should be close +\- a few $, and using WestJet prices from just before Christmas (and adding $200) we would be looking at $2300 CDN for the room / AI fee and $1000 CDN for air. The conversion rate I used is $1.39.

April is a higher rate period so that would add about another $350 CDN. Using a referral price which is typically 25% off the rack rate for a given room type but more than the Premier rate, let's say another $25 USD /night or $350 CDN over the 10 nights, I think you got a good deal with our crappy $ :) Deals are getting hard to find :(

I'm pricing out and 8 night trip for October and I'm getting $1300 for great WestJet flights outta Moncton (actually cheaper then Halifax or Fredericton) We will use a friends referral rate of $156 US (approximately $1750 CDN)

So an 8 day trip in the fall in unfortunately costing us about the same as a February trip did in 2014...we are toying with replacing a few TTR days with days at RM instead but we need to wait and check on pricing for Desire a little later in the year.

Rates go up and down,, the resorts popularity has increased their occupancy to a point they are no longer doing the down thing.
People will start opting out at some point, and rates will come back down.
Combined with the 1.42 exchange rate, I think a few CDN,s will fell the same way.
