Thanks for the trip report. Not GOV specific but I often see people complaining about there being no hot water at hotels in Cancun. I am sure most of the time it is because they don't understand how to operate the taps and mix the temperatures. If a tap or lever direction is marked 'C' it does not mean Cold it means Caliente which is Spanish for Hot. People are used to C for Cold and turn the other tap looking for hot water, which is in fact the cold water.
