I would say boycot booking any reservations until Temptations brings their prices for Feb back into reality .... Why would anyone pay so much for a week or two to stay there the prices are just rediculous .... If they don't soon, they have lost our attention at being repeat customers... Let face reality the food isn't the greatest the rooms are maybe a 2 star quality the place has been falling apart if you look up when your sober .... It's all about the fun and the people you meet but I just can't see 200 plus dollars per person per night
Len, we booked a few months ago, and paid around $1700 for 9 nights through alpha rooms. So that's around $190 a night for both of us. Maybe the prices are really going up as the rooms get booked. Last year we booked really late, and they were still cheaper than this year. We heard stories of the resort being overbooked in Feb., so maybe this is there way of controlling booking.
We booked about 3 weeks ago. 7 days, rooms and direct flights were $1600 each. Kinda glad we booked when we did.
Not sure what hotel you stayed in but, the food was great, the service was great and rooms were great, as far as the price going up in Feb, blame all those Canadians and Americans from the northern states,, they just want to get away from all that snow... supply and demand! BTW we ere there in September..
I guess for us, the people trump everything. I couldn't imagine finding a resort that is less that would provide even close to the same experience as Temptation, and on the flip side a 5 star resort, with 5 star food wouldn't compare to the fun we had at Temptation last year even at the same price. And besides, I don't plan on being sober too often this year anyways so I guess it will still feel like a 5 star to me. I get that the prices are ridiculous and for some people who it would be out of the budget or simply not worth it, but we paid around that and feel its gonna be worth every penny. People head to Europe or a luxury cruise and spend 5, 6, $7000 a week and nobody blinks. We'd personally rather be at Temptation and cant wait. For our sake and everyone else's though, I do hope the prices drop cause as great as it's gonna be, it won't be the same without you guys or the majority of all the others we met last year.
We hadn't yet been on trip in September and Dennis had already booked our trip for February 2014. Gotta plan ahead!
We will be back February 26 - March 3 for our 5th trip. Just got back about two weeks ago from our last one. Already looking forward for the February trip!!!
We booked our February trip way back in April I think. We got 9 nights with air for $147 per person per night. Lenni, you are right that the hotel is not the best and the food is so so. But as you have said yourself that most of us are there for the atmosphere and people. Jacquie my son and myself are currently at the RIU Palace in Los Cabos. The hotel is great the food is great so are the rooms and service. Yet I am here reading the Cancuncare forum just waiting to get back there for our third trip and to meet up with some of the great people we met last year. That said I do hope the prices go down for everyone so we can meet back up with even more repeaters.
