Prices were high and yet the joint was packed. we called in a few favours to get a room over Easter. Soo moral of the story is......raising prices doesn't create an empty Mecca. The coolest ppl will find a way to pay the increase.
Flights here keep going up and up for the week I can go in Feb - it's the week of school vacation here, so it's always nuts. I paid $1900 for myself for the first year (4 years ago), $2400 for myself 3 years ago, $1900 for my half of a couple last year, and this year...packages are $2800 for myself alone!! YIKES!! That being said, I found a wicked cheap ticket on Spirit (say what you want - it was $1000 less than the others), and just booked Alpharooms for the room....$1800 total. Saved myself a grand!
I know that they need to offset the costs of that impending renovation. That's got to be costing them a bunch of capital.
I find that sometimes it can be and sometimes it isn't...just have to do your shopping carefully and have some date flexibility... day or two can make a huge difference on the air portion.
Please read the other threads where people are complaining about the place being sold out. They haven't invented the resort yet that everyone wants to go to, it's always cheap and always has vacancies.
Actullt it has been sold out. We've been bumped due to no rooms and we know of plenty others it has happened to as well. Didn't miss any of the party and got 3 free nights so all is good.
Just called to pay for the last week of January and asked how full it was already and was told about 70-75% for that week.
