Luck of the draw but based on what we 've experienced from people that have renedt regular cars down there , would definately not do this for the same obvious reasons!
The rental davetammy is talking about is an exotic car around a track, not for public roads, so there are no Police issues. As some others mentioned, you can do this in many places around the World. Why not? Lamborghinis are just as expensive to buy here than anywhere - it's not like they wouldn't care if they wrote one off every now and then Re driving, I dont think there's a need at all for tourists to rent a car for getting around. I do think Police problems are over exaggerated though. In 8 years Jannet and I have driven 50,000 miles and been stopped 6 times between us - we both drive every day. We've paid one bribe, taken one ticket (that cost $6 to pay - parked across a cycle path) and got off 4 times.
