That is correct for most people... If you go at 80% maximum heart rate, you are into a cardio zone, which builds more muscle than burns fat...

I made it to the gym this morning, but no air conditioning in there made me want to vomit. On the bright side, i lost a pound in 30 minutes lol. Just about back to my pre-TTR weight.

Has anyone here tried Crossfit? My wife and I have been involved for about two years now and just love it. I still look forward to going to the gym everyday to see what the workout is going to be and to compete (in a supportive, friendly way) with the rest of the group.
We used to belong to the regular gym for years and did the circuit training and treadmill running. I enjoyed that also, but would have a hard time switching back now. The group classes are so much more fun.

Been travelling for a work training course today. Had to get up at 5am...Kim I have nothing but respect for you getting up at that unholy hour! It felt like torture. Amazing the difference 1 hour makes. It's nearly 9pm here and only just got back. Haven't even eaten since 1pm this afternoon, and negotiating slow and packed-like-sardines trains all day.

I've a feeling there's no way I'm going to make the gym in the morning. My brain is already telling me "it's ok, you've had a very long and tiresome day". Still, I've done a LOT of walking today, and had to negotiate a lot of stairs, walking over platforms etc. with a fairly heavy bag.

Onwards and upwards, if I don't make it in the morning I'll commit to doing my 2 mile walk at lunch, and definitely back in there on Friday.

Today has been a good day. 50 mins badminton this morning, and 2-mile walk at lunch. I get a shorter work day on Fridays, so going back to the gym this afternoon for a bit of cardio too.

Ok, so went to the gym after work, and my worst fear happened - bumped into people from work! I know it doesn't sound bad, but when I work out I get hot, and I sweat - a lot, especially around my face. Always have done, even when I wasn't fat. I think it's part of the reason I didn't enjoy working out when I was younger, I got too embarrassed about it. Well today, I just thought sod it. I'm here for a good reason, and if I sweat, then I sweat. It must be doing me good, and being so fat and lazy doesn't reflect well on me in work either, so I just got on with it and did my normal workout, sweat and all. Feeling exhausted tonight, so must've been a good workout!

Did 45 minutes on the elliptical yesterday and then a whole lot of Jane fonda's. A little rehab for very sore knees. I am definitely still stuggling with the diet and my damm sweet tooth that thinks it's needs more cause of hot flashes. Nope I just need water so today my goal is just to stay on the diet. I am also gonna get my ass downstairs and work out. 98 days to cancun........25 lbs gone would be great, 35 would be better.
