Good idea... Also, consider quick workouts on lunch... Its a good stress reliever... That's what I would do when I was a member at the gym close to work..

I know what you mean. Making that commitment to go the gym at 7pm after a long day in work made me miserable. I'll have to be up at 6am and out the house at 6:30, but it's sounding like a better option and easier to get into a routine with than an evening workout.

I'm not quite close enough to get a workout in at lunch, especially as the traffic builds up during the day. I used to do 2-mile walks on my lunch though 2 or 3 times a week, until I got slow and sluggish. Hoping after a few weeks back in the gym I'll be better able to do these walks again during lunch.

50 minutes legs on the fitter and abs, roll ups, heel touches, bridges, and crunches today. Not as good as what I wanted but I`ll take it.

Checked out the gym after work yesterday, and pleasantly surprised by how nice it is! My old gym didn't open until 8am (exercise machines only) and the courts (I play badminton) weren't open until 9. At this new place everything is open from 6am, I can even book a badminton session at 6am if I so choose. There's tons more equipment too, and air conditioning. The pool looks inviting, and lockers are free. Membership is the same price as the other place too, so getting a bargain.

Got my mandatory induction booked in for Monday morning - start as I mean to go on :)

Good for you. 2 times P90x workouts is too much for us. We did 7 weeks of p90x before our trip. Then when we got back we back tracked and started week 4 again figuring we wanted to redo that cycle of weights. We decided instead of the 1 break day we each would be allowed to take a 2nd break day a week. That might help us keep it up until our October trip!

Still hard to get back to it...........I did ab ripper today or as much as I could stand of it and 35 minutes on the elliptical. I am just gonna keep at it, I love the way it tones my body. I didn't do it as much before April and I am still kicking my as for it even now.
Worst part for me is getting the diet where I want it. Too picky to eat alot of p90x offers with their recipes.

First workout at the new gym this morning. All went ok! The display screens on the equipment displays distance in miles rather than km which is nice, as I have no clue how far a km is, and can judge better in miles. All machines also have a heart rate monitor.

I think I was working too hard and need to take it a bit slower at first. It's been about 6 months since my last attempt to get into a healthy workout routine. I have to hold my hand up and admit I'm in pretty bad shape fitness-wise right now. Today's workout, my heart rate was around 160BPM, and I couldn't manage more than 40 minutes at that pace.

I've read up a bit at lunch to try and understand heart rate and working out. A ton of websites I checked recommended when embarking on a new regime after a significant period of being sedentary, working out heart rate should be around 60 - 70% of maximum heart rate, which after 6 months should aim to increase to 70 - 80% of maximum heart rate.

    Does this sound about right?

If so, I'm doing it wrong. I need to reduce my heart rate to around 135BPM for now, increasing when it feels 'easier' working out at that pace.

I've only done 2 days and 1 serious workout, but finding this regime much easier to stick to. As long as I'm in bed by 11pm, getting up at 6am is easy. It's only taking 20 mins to get to the gym instead of 45 that it would be if it was rush hour. I'm actually getting to work an hour earlier than when I didn't go the gym.
