So I tried searching for a spa around that does the body wraps I hear people talking about and could not find one very close to me. I did find an at home one on ehow.com Has anyone tried to do it themselves? I might get daring in a month or two and try it.
Carriejean, I've thought about the home wraps, but I'm not convinced they would work well. Part of the wrap technique is knowing how to wrap each area (how tight and how many layers). I don't know what the home wraps use for "wrapping". I've only had one wrap so far, and it required a ton of tensor-like bandages that would cost a fortune to buy. Apparently some wraps work temporarily because they dehydrate you, but a proper detox wrap sucks the toxins out of your cells, not the water. I was told that if the wrap instructions tell you to drink a lot of water after the procedure, all the wrap is doing is sucking the water out of your cells, which will quickly be replaced, unlike toxins which take much more time to build up. Having said all of that, I am new to wraps and not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. I will know more after my next wrap on the 11th. I'll ask the technician if any of the home wraps are worthwhile (although obviously it is in her best interests to say NO!)
Got a two hour work out in today. 40 minutes on the spin bike and a whole lot of abdominal excercises and back exercises. It's crunch time. Tighten and firm so we can make the boy squirm.
Good job Monique! I've taken the weekend off since I worked overnights both Friday and Saturday night, I've been exhausted, maybe with seeing what you did, I can squeeze in a Zumba work out just so I don't feel so lazy today!
Thanks for the post! Just what I needed to get my @$$ up off this couch and head to the gym!!! Been talking about going since this morning....
Back from the gym! I feel better now....only 3 days and two workouts left until we start heading that way!
