I know this has been asked a dozen times on here but this has more of a twist to it. Here in Canada i went to a currency conversion place and they offered me a rate of 8.3 Pesos for Canadian money and 9.1 pesos for American money. Is this a better rate than they are giving now in the hotel district for exchange rates ? ..and if not..... where is the best place to bring cash and convert it to Pesos down there ?

If I'm not mistaken I think Karen had said that the best exchange rate was at the ATM and I believe there is one in the lobby of BBG :D

Do not use the hotel to change money. There is an ATM outside the store next door to BBG which gives a good rate .Also accross the road from there , there is a money exchange shop which gives an excellent rate for all currencies

+1 for using the ATM. much easier. you must have a four digit pin number that does NOT start with zero.

Does anyone know what the withdrawal fee is from the ATMs? If it's reasonable I'd think about just taking enough out for each day to avoid carrying large amounts of cash around.

We always use ATM when we are there...another word of advise is to make sure you call your bank and let them know you will be in Mexico and the dates, also check if they have extra fees for using your card out of country...mine did if I used ATM but not if I used it as credit card and hubbies did not charge for anything.

We used the ATM at the store in front of BBG 4 times. Fee was 1 dollar US each time. There is also an ATM in the stores laundry mat . Walk towards back of store on alley side. Had to use it once when the one in front was out of order. It also charged 1 dollar fee.
