Because of those phones there is less and less good story to reminisce.

How was the daring dart (the funniest game) the last time you were there ?

Unluckily there were no daring darts the last 5 times I did go !!!

Not a lot of participation anymore at mister Temptation and even at the iron man either.

    Why ?

because people making it a great party don't want to go and get their pictures all over the place.

And people taking picture with their phone are usually not the one who put on a show.[/QUOTE]

This seems to be an interesting topic. Couple opposite views on here. Even some people may have got off topic or even backtracked , all good points of view tho.
This will be my 7th year going and as I was going threw my albums you are so right ! In Nov 2007 (back when it was Blue Bay ) I actually had strangers coming up to me saying "give me your camera and I will take a photo of you and my topples wife" I have not seen that in a couple years !
I have seen a drop off in game participation in the last couple years. especially the daring darts game. But I have photos of Casino night in the Casino up to 2011. we participate in all theme night and some daytime games.
When I participate in any game I want to have photos of that crazy moment ! I have even given my camera to event staff to take photos and they do ! in fact they are some of the best photos. Congo line included , not sure they would do this any longer.
We love our photos and hope to have a great album again this year ! We hope not to many ceazys get in our face accusing us of taking photos them ! because I don't know them and I don't give a shit !
As another member stated (I think the original poster) " if you are worried about it you should be watching what you are doing ! its not the cameras you see that might be the problem its the cameras you don't see. "
And my last point .... a different member suggested " if we have to take photos we should go in the hallway by the buffet." What ? Really ? Great backdrop in paradise ! A hallway .

I agree, I usually have my tablet with me as I like to relax and read with a drink on down times.

Cameras will always be a sensitive subject. We all come from different situations as some people such as teachers cannot take the risk of having their photo inadvertently in the background of someone else's picture. Having been to Desire a couple times it is amazing how many guests are teachers, but Desire does not allow cameras. Being married to a teacher we are sensitive but generally don't say anything and we don't get as crazy at TTR as at Desire, we stay in the background. She generally doesn't go topless until later in the afternoon after the activities have slowed down and the cameras are less prevalent.

Last year our experience was similar to what was mentioned earlier. There were three guys with high quality cameras (lot of zoom ability) making sure not to miss any of the ongoing activities. Interesting all three of these guys were not only not participants in any of the activities they were all wearing a shirt and staying dry. One did point his high powered camera at my wife and she asked (shouted at) him not to take her picture but he acted as if he didn't hear her.

I understand that everyone wants to have a great time on their vacation and they don't want any restrictions on how they party. Pictures for some people is such a big part of what they do on an everyday basis and they don't want to give up their pictures. Today, it is so easy to take a picture and it is soon posted on the web, facebook, and every other electronic medium that can cause some people some great difficulty.

We do want to be careful not to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. There is a reason that cameras are not allowed in nice shoes on casino/lingerie night. If only a percentage of the guests can let loose because some have to worry about cameras then we all miss out on what could have been an awesome time.

Cameras will not keep us from going to TTR, we just adjust and make the best of it. This year however we are going to GOV and are excited about how nice the resort is and the newly planned activities. Not sure how crazy it will be or what their camera policy is, but we are accustomed to adjusting and making the best of things.

I can see there are some genuine and well founded concerns here. For my case, where I just want to use my phone for Internet access but not to take pics, perhaps I may tape a piece of paper on my phone cover that covers the camera lens next time I go to the sexy pool. Hopefully it will be more obvious that I'm not taking any pics, and no one will feel compelled to approach me about it.

Anyway, except for these incidents which I'm over now, we really had a great time and now our biggest concern is figuring out when we can come back.

But that is the thing, I said INNOCENT. You don't have to be DOING anything nowadays. Just the act of being topless for some people is a game changer. But yes, you are right. There are always CREEPS!:aktion060:

Solve the camera policy with making the pools nude pools. Done, cameras gone, less the voyeur taking from his/her room etc. Ever see a crowd of people spot a camera at a nude pool? You will be phucked, and more likely the rest of your time spent there will be miserable due to to your creepy ways being spread round the resort like wildfire. Ahh public humiliation,....it works wonders!

My 2 cents and IMHO...when we were there 24 Nov to 03 Dec this year, the ETs were quite adamant about no pictures during any activity that had / may have / resulted in nudity involved.

I get the need for privacy or people not wanting to be in pictures but at the same time since there is not a camera ban in effect overall, one has to respect the rights of people who genuinely want vacation pictures. Very hard to take pictures that do not have background people in them at a resort. Creepers and perves are found out pretty quickly and halted in their tracks.

This statement is going to be controversial but if you are in a position that being at TTR can or will jeopardize your career (and since there is not an out right camera ban) maybe you should be at a place that has a camera ban or a tamer resort that won't put you in a bad position. Nothing personal but the rights of the many outweigh the rights of the few. Even at places like HEDO which has a camera ban there are always a few creepers who will try to take pics...so you can never be totally sure that your private bits will not make an internet splash at some point. The camera that you see is not the camera you have to worry about.

TTR makes an effort to stop pictures during events but it isn't a 100% thing since a determined perve will ALWAYS get what he wants even if there is a ban in effect. Fact of life!

And I think most people at TTR who take pics of themselves or friends are quite good about blanking faces out on pics that might hit social media. Most people are respectful and understand the need for privacy.

We have seen cameras (of creepers) get thrown in the pool, smashed, SD cards removed. pictures deleted (voluntary and not) not to mention a few altercations. And we have seen innocent picture takers harassed as well. If your career is in jeopardy by being there, unless there is a total ban on any device capable of taking pictures (as previously mentioned that is also iffy at best for the determined creeper) may be you need to consider some place else that won't put you in that position.

We all make the choice where we vacation and have to accept what ever / if any risks that it involves on our careers. In this day and age nothing is totally private in public. We have many pics from TTR from previous trips with no problems from anyone. We really didn't take many this time around (other than the towel art from housekeeping) out of respect for others which is a bit of a shame because we met so many wonderful people. Guess it is a balancing act of when and where you take pictures. Either way, not everyone will be happy no matter how you look at it:( Again my 2 cents and my respectful humble opinion on this matter.

    Scott

Pardon the edit but I think it is worthwhile to mention... We have seen people politely ask others to view and or delete pictures that had themselves or significant others in the back ground with no issues / problems. All about being respectful on both sides of this slippery street.
