We just returned on Tuesday...and yes there were people on the their phones and tablets around the pool. We didn't see anyone overtly taking pics at all but we did see more than a few people playing games , texting, working (ugh!) or posting on FB etc (and CCC as well). How ever we did see a few people being cautioned about their cameras for taking pics during events. Even that wasn't much of an issue because they were genuinely embarrassed because they missed the whole "please no pictures" statement from the ET's (these were middle aged couples doing their own thing and saw something funny to take a pic of). Been to TTR a few times where there were real creepers taking boobie shots with telephoto lenses or casual walk bys snapping pics on phones and cameras. We did not see anything like that at all on our trip and we were there for 10 days. My 2 cents...and I am not one to put up with creepers.
Our group took a ton of pics. However, it was all within our group, and we made it a point NOT to take random pics of other people we didn't know. A little etiquette and courtesy goes a long way. We did point out the creepers to security. Most of the security guys could tell the difference between legit pics and creepers.
the number 1 reason I never take my tablet or phone to the sexy pool? you forget you enjoy your trip! Unplug for a while, you'll find you enjoy it!
I'm not condoning taking pics at all. I don't. But i need my phone. And I will use it. Security hasn't said shit to me nor should they. Being a techie, I can tell you if phones are what you are worried about, your concerns are misplaced. There are much cleverer disguises for cameras.
I use my phone quite a bit at the resort, I rarely take any pictures though. I agree that taking pics of others without permission is a clear no no, but someone simply using a phone or tablet shouldn't be presumed as a perv without any other suspicious factors.
yet you also like to have a nice keepsake album to reminisce upon ?[/QUOTE] Because of those phones there is less and less good story to reminisce. How was the daring dart (the funniest game) the last time you were there ? Unluckily there were no daring darts the last 5 times I did go !!! Not a lot of participation anymore at mister Temptation and even at the iron man either. Why ? because people making it a great party don't want to go and get their pictures all over the place. And people taking picture with their phone are usually not the one who put on a show.
All I can say is if I want to take pics of my wife and friends, then if you dont want to be in the background, you better get the hell out of the waY!!! ILL BE DAMN IF IM GOING TO GO ON VACATION AND NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE PICTURES! If someone is just walking around taking randoms, thats different. But if Im taking a group pic and your wife happens to end up in the background topless....oh well. Not my fault.
We agree. Some people think way to highly of themselves also. If there was a ban on cameras or phones with cameras, then ok. But there isnt.
Thats what we are talking about (or at least i am). I'M not saying anything against people who take their friends, the wife etc... To protect the games and activities that formerly existed, we probably could get with a nice negotiated deal. Some hours a day (as example between 1 and 2:30) in the pm the sexy pool could be camera free during certain games. I guess that would not be a big problem for people like you who wants correct pics of their friends, you would still have plenty of other times to take picture of your friends during a whole day or days, but it could help particiapnts in said games to have at least some kind of privacy. The same way they do for the lingerie night they could apply these rules to other night or days activities.
