None-the-less I will take extra precautions, but that's only because in Mexico I think you must do that by default, but it seems this resort is not prone to theft and scams based on the responses on this thread. I appreciate the feedback!
Was just there with no issues, we left about 100 usd by the TV by accident, was still there when we got back. We tipped the maid 3 bucks a day, put our empty bottles on top of it, she took care of us. I also read the trip advisory stuff, a few times, and most of it is bull ship. People not knowing where they are going, not doing proper research etc. I met lots of staff that had been there 10 years. Thats a long time in the hotel industry. The comments here I would say are bang on, lots of these guys are repeaters, 12-22 times in 10 years.... I could see it if your a complete douch bag, causing issues every night etc etc, they will flag you and give you a serious hard time so you never come back. I would say you would have to be seriously off the wall though, we did some crazy stuff with zero issues for sure. Even this might be a stretch. IMO you wont have any issues.
Though nothing has been stolen from us by TTR staff ..... I must report that each time we have been there, they have hi-jacked my liver and some how it seems my inhibitions go missing. Will be there in two weeks to do some investigating on these terrible crimes.
My wife seems to disappear too at TTR , and some chick that looks exactly like her, but a lot more outgoing, sexy, and wild replaces her. I like it !
WARNING!! You might lose - your inhibitions, your shyness and possibly ultimately your liver - but otherwise you're good to go. lol

Just got back from our second trip. Have not had any issues and when we went to leave the resort this time they came and got us to give us a silver bracelet that we had somehow missed when clearing out the safe when we left the room.
We stayed there last year and the safe wouldn't work. We were there for only one night for lingerie night. So we placed our valuables (in a pinch in side the coffee pot water tank). We were staying at GP for the week. So most of our valuables were there. So we took the risk vs. having to deal with getting the safe fixed.
We were there end of January with no problems at all. I actually had to leave the maid a note so that she'd take the tip I was trying to leave her after her putting it back 3 days in a row.
