thats awesome....somehow i was thinking it was going to be like the bus on Romancing the Stone, with chickens and pigs lol
No pigs and chickens that I've ever seen, but you do get the occasional busker serenading you looking for the other dollar in your pocket. :biggrinbandit:
We once had an entire mariachi band in the aisle playing for tips. The bus is a great way to get down to the great body surfing beaches, and a really cheap way to get to Wal-Mart. Think we paid $.20, but it was a while ago, sadly haven't left TTR in many trips. (Why would I, everything I need is there and the pool to cool off in when it all becomes just too hard)
We affectionately refer to their bus system as "Six Flags Cancun" because it is always a thrilling ride! The colectivo sytem that runs up and down the coast via 307 can even be more fun! We use their mass transit system everywhere we go..... have never even been in a cab.
Anyone happen to know if they have Benson and Hedges at the Walmart? I'm not hitting my regular airport so I don't if my new airport is going to have them.
The buses cost 8.5 pesos per person. If you give a larger denomination peso bill or coin the driver will give you change. If you pay with a US $ bill more then likely you will get no change even if you want it since the drivers do not calculate exchange rates. They run 24 hours per day 7 days a week. During the day till about midnight they rune every couple of minutes. Late at night they run every 5-7 minutes apart. They stop in front of Temptation. If you are going downtown it's on the side of the street as the resort. If you are going to the clubs, cross the street the stop is near the church.
The bus is so easy and safe. I took it by myself to Walmart because I needed some medicine. The drivers are very helpful. Don't hesitate. I think the taxis butt rape you on the fees. Hop the bus instead!
