Whats the word on this place? I stayed there in March of 2005 and it was pretty old school...not bad but definitely not modern at all. My guess is they are either having serious problems getting it back to the "old school" way or are using the opportunity to somewhat modernize the rooms and premises. My guess is the later and that the age and condition of the hotel didn't help with it's post wilma restoration. My hope, tho, is that they are taking all this time to update the age old hotel.
Yes it remain closed and I think they will not open soon. The hotel miss the high December season and is trying to get a franchise and get a new look.
