I'll take either of those tequilas over Don Julio myself. Don Julio is good, but their real strength is marketing. Whatever your thoughts on DJ, though, the answer is yes, they do have good tequila. They also carry a good aged rum. Can't recall the name, but it's an 8-or-so year old that's pretty nice.
The corner store right across from the resort has no appreciable wine selection. I didn't recognize a single label.
I agree with IDareU - the El Jimador tequila is pretty good. It's 100% agave, but you have to remember to ask for it by name or you get bottom shelf hangover in a bottle. As everyone else said the wine is hard to drink, but I normally feel like I have to order a glass at the Italian place.
Sorry to disagree with the masses, but the house wine (white, can't comment on the red) is really good! Wine is a very personal choice, at home we drink Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Rueda, Picpoul etc, and found the house white, when chilled, to be perfectly drinkable! :daisy:
Oh... they do have gin then. Amy will be happy. They don't list it on their website. Is there an "upcharge" for asking for their nicer tequilas (aside from tipping well)?
They have multiple brands of every kind of liquor. The selection is quite vast. No need to tip and no need to pay extra for the quality tequila or gin. Just ask the bartender and "call" the brand and they will take care of you. Tip because you got great service! As an FYI - Premier members get Cuervo Tradicional Resposado.
