The private transfer with the stop at walmart is the way to go for sure!

You'd be fine bringing your own in your suitcase to a certain limit. not sure what it is, but 2 bottle between 2 people would certainly be fine.

Stopping at the store on the way, or in the hotel zone would also work well.

You could scout out the wine list in one of the restaurants in the evening and find one that isn't their house wine and is something you like. Then the next day, ask the waitress for a bottle of it in a bucket of ice on the beach. Generally speaking, in Mexico you aren't negotiating whether or not a service can be provided. You are negotiating price. So if you are willing to pay for the bottle and give the waitress a significant tip, she'll work her ass off for you. Significant tip doesn't = $2.

But yeah, don't overlook the lower end booze served on a hot girl. It's better than the fanciest booze out there. Slumming it is where the fun is.

2 bottles for 2 people? Ryan and I call that just getting started! :D

They do have some decent bottles available for purchase at the restaurants. The real shit I was referring to is the house wine.

What would you consider a significant tip for a service like that?

Thanks for the advice - we're looking forward to both for sure! We are not above enjoying the lower end booze at all.

Walmart...or Duty Free....I enjoy Appleton 12yr old rum..so usually pick up 3 bottles before we take off...then arrive and give Tiger one of the jugs to keep for me behind the bar...keep a couple in the room and replenish with Tiger as required!

    They have Beefeater for Gin!

Tequila: El Jimador & Milagro - both in Resposado & Silver - 100% Agave!

Not quite Don Julio but both are good and not mixto crap.

Yes- you have to call these out to the bartenders or they will use the "well" crap.

Ill add to that. I think the max is 2 liters per person.

I go to wal-mart some (don't particularly like it)
la-europea is a short bus ride down the street as well.

Remember with VAT even tequila isnt really any cheaper in MX
