Last year I tried to drink 'round-the-clock. I don't recommend it. I even drank all day once, stayed up all night to watch the sun rise with some fellow CCC'ers (while drinking) and tried to rally and go straight back to the sexy pool. This was a mistake. I missed two hours of prime-time in the afternoon because, after 36 hours awake and drinking, my body said enough. It does seem though, when I sober up, that I start to not feel good, which I blame on the food not sitting well with me. When that happens, one drink, and I'm all better. So you see, this is essential for good health. What I have not yet mastered is the early evening, pre-dinner nap. The whole resort completely dies during this time and I can never sleep, so I walk around the resort like a zombie with a captain and coke in my hand, while the wife snoozes.
For me and my wife the typical gameplan is to start slowly and have a couple before 11 am beach volleyball. We always play, that takes you up to lunchtime. Then we drink a little bit more heavily with a shot or two until about 4-5, head to the room to jacuzzi and drink champagne, catch a nap (1-2 hours) get up at 7 and then drink a little more heavily until we crash. We are not heavy drinkers away from Temptation so we will take maybe 4-5 shots on our best day. We never end up just totally obliterated, rather we aim to catch a buzz and ride it all day, maybe push that a bit between midnight and bedtime. Now I fully realize that this is a pretty tame drinking schedule but if one only has 4-5 days a year in paradise the last thing I want to do is blow one nursing a hangover. The key is to NEVER allow yourself to get caught up in the wave of drinking with the pro's, there are people on site who drink more before lunch than I do in a day that weigh 50 pounds less than me. The only issue I have with following this edict is when a friend who happens to have incredible juggs and a g-string on starts to "encourage" me to drink, but what is a man to do?:xyxthumbs:
I feel like an old person for saying this. But this time I brought multi-vitamins and VIT B. Took those every morning for breakfast and it seemed to help.
i will def. have to do this more to be able to keep up day and night -especially since i've been juicing and not eating to drop a couple of lbs before this vaca!
Can I say that you inspire me to drink as much as you? Since, you know, we aren't big drinkers and all. But we do what we must... :xyxthumbs:
I told Jim we need to remember to drink water in between too so we do not dehydrate. We've been trying to lead a healthier lifestyle too so as to 'prepare' for TTR. After a day or so it should even out right?! lol
