I’ve seen that some of the restaurants require men in pants and closed toe shoes. Are jeans and gym shoes acceptable or do they need to be dress pants/shoes? Also is there a dress code in the restaurant for the women?
In the restaurants for men, any closed toed shoes and long pants are ok. Women can wear virtually anything.
I usually pack two pairs of lightweight linen pants, which are Only worn to dinner and that's it. Get them off the hanger, put them on, slip on the shoes instead of the flops, and hit the eatery. Back to the room immediately after, hang the pants back up, slips get slipped off and flops go back on and it's time to check out Bash. It's a system. A new system since the reno, but it seems to be working. Hanging the pants is the key, as somehow it keeps them from getting the moldy room smell. No clue how or why.
We were in the Asian when a guy came in , in a very smart pair of tailored shorts (tropics style), he was refused entry. He returned 5 minutes later wearing his pyjama bottoms and that was acceptable !!!! (couldn't make that dress code up, by the way how many men take pyjama's to TTR ???). Another example , a lady was accepted into the Italian with rip jean shorts..... real crap but acceptable. Obviously ok for girls not the boys.. just saying LOL...…. but a strange dress code by any ones standards...
We goto Sutra a few times each trip. Usual see tshirts, tanktops, shorts, jogging clothes, sneakers, and flipflops on more than a couple each time. <shrug> still for wife & I we like to get a little dressed up. It gives us a change of pace. Also nice for some pictures...then back to room for pre-bash drinks and change clothes. I'd love to wear nice shorts, but that's a whole discussion..lol. We're fine with buffet though where dress code is not required.
