The rules at the resturants seem to change by the year. They used to never let us in in kilts, so we showed up in kilts and a pair of pants in our hands and that was fine.
Yeah, the idea is to make the specialty restaurants to be a little more special than Embarcadero or the Tex-Mex. So they are looking for long pants and nicer shirt. Yeah there are times when folks get away with lesser and you're on vacation but is it really THAT difficult to help make other people's night a little special? The waiters at these restaurants work really hard to create the atmosphere and it's appreciated by everyone there. Sorry but the above paragraph is a kneejerk reaction to those that will post that they went in with shorts and tee-shirts with no problem (and I'm not talking about you Doug ) They added that table for those that just really, really don't want to put on long pants. Trust me guys, treat the ladies nice and put on the big boy pants. Jamie
Jamie, I agree 100 percent with you about dressing up.... I actually enjoy the break between the pool and dinner while getting ready.
