Hi- My boyfriend and I will be first timers in the beginning of March. The Temptation website says long pants, no jeans for El Embarcadero; if this is the main buffet for breakfast and lunch, does the no shorts no jeans no sandals rule come in to play for breakfast and lunch? It just seems kind of silly because a lot of times you hit the breakfast buffet on your way to the pool or beach.
Just returned a week ago. The wife and I got soaked in a downpour while at the pool. I went into the lunch buffet wearing my towel, flipflops and sunglasses! We were dripping and we were still treated like everyone else! No worries at the buffet any time. Wear what makes you comfy! Enjoy your trip!
we were in and out of there lots with board shorts and a tshirt, my wife was putting a throw over her bottom half but was just wearing the bikini top which was actually pushing the rules a bit long story short 6-8 am put towels out or something else to reserve pool chairs, go for breakfast, if you want to wear your swimwear underneath a cover up at breakfast you can but the pool bar doesnt open until 10 so there is time to go back to your room before hitting the pool, when you do hit the pool take the tshirt for him and coverups for yourself so you can go for lunch, and get back to the pool without having to change. After 10 am it is impossible to get a spot next to the sexy pool if you didnt reserve in the morning
From our experience, flip flops and sandals are fine for all, and a coverup for the ladies on the bottom half seemed sufficient
For breakfast we dressed in shorts and tshirts and for lunch my husband had swim trunks and t shirt on and I had a cover up on. Tex Mex was the same.
The long pants and collared shirt, and closed toe shoes requirement for men is only for the specialty restaurants at night. For the buffet restaurants, they ask that you arrive with something on your feet (flip-flops, shoes, sandals, whatever), dry swimsuits (or a towel to sit on so the person following you doesn’t end up sitting in a puddle) for men and at a minimum a shear cover-up for women’s bottoms, and a cover up for your top so that other guests are staring at your nipples (women wearing a top and men a tee shirt is fine). Other than that you’ll be fine. Jamie
People, You are going into a dining establishment. For breakfast and lunch, be dry, cover up some as you would at any eatery. Do you want some wet, sweaty, person reaching over your buffet food? Is common sense dead?
