Well my man looked hot, because he was sweating up a storm in those long pants

Actually, I do not mind dressing up and having Ryan wear pants on one night. But if I'm OK in a casual sundress or skort, or really even shorts, then I cannot understand why dress shorts and a collared shirt are not acceptable on guys.

Yeah I totally agree with you Bethy!

While I agree with Miked that the buffet isnt bad (usually) I really like going to the specialty places. It is fun to get dressed up and be served and the food is SO GOOD in them. I just think that if they are going to make jeans acceptable they need to make nice shorts ok too. Actually I ment to send them an email when I returned and I think I will do just that today. I will let you know if I get a response.

Just bring a pair or two so you can wear them if need be. The Itailan is certainly worth it (3 words BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP) dont know about the asian, tho I have heard good things...this is the second year we missed it.

My husband and I will be arriving at Tempation at 12:45pm and will not make it on time for the reservation for the dinner that night. Since we're only staying there for 3 nights and also wants to do some tours outside of the resort. And will not have time to go stand in line for the reservation.

Do you think i can work it out with the management at the resort and let us have one or two nights dinner at one of the restaurants?

I doubt it. They are pretty strict about the reservations. It is possible that if you show up appropriatly dressed and with a nice tip at dinner time they MIGHT "find" a table for you. But make sure that you also tip the waiter well also because they will be working an extra table that would have been empty, therefore doing more work than usual (they usually have about 1/4 to 1/2 the tables empty at any given time in my experience.

What all do you have planned for a 3 night stay? I would NOT prepay for them as you may get down there and find you dont have time to do all you want. Usually I hear people say that if you do an excursion more than every other day you are planning to much and will come back worn out. I guess it depends on how you like to vaction but I have to say I agree I wouldnt want to do excursions on more than half my trip.

If it were me I would. I cant imagine doing all that in a three night trip. If you get to the airport at 12:45 even if you breeze through customs you wont get to Temptations until the earliest 1:15. I doubt you will have time to do things that day. Check in drop crap off in room no earlier than 1:45. I am not sure but there is a slight possibility you could swim with the dolfins that day if you made the trip on your own and didnt do it as a tour. So then the next day you do the Isla tour. Then the next day you would have to do Tulum and the next day is travel home day.

If you hadnt booked your Isla tour already I would say explore Isla on your own and then swim with the dolfins while you were there as they have a spot there you can do that. Also can do it as a package with Tulum it is an all day package where the first half of the day you go to Xel Ha and the second half you go to Tulum. However if you do this I feel like it is a bit of a waste of money...you are paying to visit Xel Ha (and it is beautiful there) and you have to pay extra to swim with the dolfins and there wont be much time left for exploreing Xel Ha. The ride to Tulum and Xel Ha isnt a short one either. Unless you are big on history I dont think the guides through Tulum are worth it either. You really only need so much time there to explore, see the ocean from there as it is beautiful but after that it is HOT HOT HOT and you wanna get out of there.

Here's another angle that sometimes works if you can't make a reservation in the morning. Check with the specialty rest. of your choice around 7-8 o'clock & see how their reservations are doing. A lot of times people get too drunk & miss their reservation. :stevehastoomuchvodka: (Been there done that) We have gotten in like this before. A tip doesn't hurt either

    Scott,
What is the appropriate tip amount to use in that situation?
