Oh sure. Apparently jeans and crappy tennis shoes look better than dress shorts and leather sandals. Makes no sense to me. I have been to 5 star resorts, that usually only have one restaurant that requires long pants, and that would be their most upscale restaurant. Most of the other restaurants, at these resorts, require dress shorts, and collared shirts, and leather sandals. No swimwear, and no flip flops. And lets face it, while I love Temptations, it's no 5 star resort. Even if the reservation restaurants are really nice. And, btw, most other resorts I have been to, allow you to sit down with the reservationist and make your dinner reservations for the whole week. They do not require guests to get up and waste precious vacation time by standing in line to make dinner reservations every morning. Just my two cents worth
He he he! Those of you who read my trip report KNOW how pissy I am about this situation! I was TRYING to be restrained in my attitude about it. But everyone else brougt up my issues. May as well wear a plain white Haines T-shirt with the jeans. We was a guy sitting in the Itailain wearing that! I bought G a pair of jeans at Walmart when my friend & I did our shopping. Unfortunatly I forgot about all the weight he lost and bought his OLD size (about 3 or 4 sizes too big! ) and since he is only about 5'6" and they didnt have different lengths they were only about 5 inches too LONG! And he wore his tennies. But at least he put on a collared shirt! It is CRAZY they felt that was better than a pair of Dockers shorts with his dressy sandals.
Where is the best place to eat if you are flying in the late afternoon? Since I obviously won't be able to make a reservation for that first day. Will they allow someone else to make a reservation for you?
There are other resturants on site that dont require reservations that are really good as well. The embarcadero always servers dinner. It is buffet style and everynight they have different styles of food, and is always good.
Simple dress code: Guys look neat, girls look hot. Bring a pair or two of neatly-pressed khakis for going to dinner, change back into shorts after dinner and off you go. Women ... easy - look hot.
I too had to comprimise my religious beliefs and bring jeans for July. If you are going to eat at the specialty resturants, I agree with Robin n Stew. Bring a pair of khakis or two and change back into shorts. It makes life so simple.
