Just don't drink the pool water and you'll be fine.

I suspect that half of the problems that you hear about people having with their digestive systems in Mexico can be attributed more to the booze and eating too many desserts than to anything wrong with the water and food. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ditto. We've been more sick from the tequila than we have from any of the water we have drank in Mexico.

After we got back home last year my stomach really bothered me. Went to the Dr and it was hpylori. The Dr said I probably got it in Cancun. I thought I was careful but I guess not careful enough. Had to take 2-strong antibiotics. All in all it was worth it cause TTR is so fun!!!

A year ago in May at Desire, my wife got severely ill with a bacterial infection. We never left the resort. She wound up being hospitalized at Amerimed Cancun. She received excellent treatment but the bottom line is you can't always trust the water out of the tap, or that the greens are thoroughly washed. Since then we have always started a Cipro cycle before we go. Big difference between the noro virus and the bacterial infection.

I read on here that some people felt they got a bug from not being careful enough about the pool water in the main pool. While there I observed a lot of gulls using the shallow end for drinking or as a bird bath. That's not all they do in the pool. Just thought I'd mention it.

One of the big reasons for a Bubba mug,,, keeps the pool water out,, or sippy cups with straws

Story of one guy so drunk,, he was toppling over in the pool and filling up his cup with pool water and unknowingly drinking it ,, uggg.

This one comes up a lot, there is nothing to be fearful of at Temptation regarding the water. As someone mentioned, the hotel has it's own purification system. The water will taste different so you might not necessarily want to drink a glass full, but fine for brushing your teeth.

We live downtown where the water is not purified and we and the kids brush our teeth and shower with unpurified water with no problems at all.

I'd agree that swallowing pool water is a much higher risk. Imagine the 'soup' that is in there when the water is 90F and has had two hundred bodies in it for the last 8 hours!
