I guess the medical side is a gamble. Although if it doesn't cover "abuses" it probably won't be much help lol
Be sure of the details of what insurance you already carry. We always purchase insurance...and had to use it this year. We had our 2 week trip booked for April but Terry's father took ill and we had to cancel 2 days before departure. Credit card insurance and personal sure might cover medical, trip interruption, etc. but in this case we are happy to have purchase full insurance through our agency.
We decided to get the trip insurance "just in case"....with 2 teenage boys, and an aging Mom, you just never know. Plus, heaven forbid, if anything happens while in Mexico, I would want to know I had insurance. (I am a real klutz, so ya never know what can happen especially when alcohol is involved!!)
Didn't get it the first couple times heading down, then we did a few trip wondering if we really needed to get it, then yes we needed it and that goodness we did. The only thing it got a bit interesting trying to utilize it. Had it not been a medical issue I am not sure that we could have gotten refunded. We always get it now.
We would never travel without insurance, we buy the annual one that covers us for worldwide travel £130 for the top cover for the whole family, as many trips as we want. My husband hurt his back in Spain ended up in a private hospital for a week, then a nurse was flown out from the UK to escort him back, private ambulances both ends. I hate to think how much it would have cost us.
We purchased the insurance for the same reason. I would rather be out a $200 dollars than $3500 if we didn't have the insurance. It's a well worth investment.
Those that buy, we're do you buy from? I do know my work health insurance will cover us, but we would have to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed.
Not Health Insurance, Travel Insurance in case we need to cancel our trip for any reason like weather or health. Well see you in 4 weeks :daveandmo::flash::bootyshake:
