Chances are that everything is going to be just fine and you will not hear from them. Since we have been there when it was called Blue Bay Getaway, I do not feel bad putting BBG and their phone number down on the paper for our teenagers. I am also going to tell them that I will check my cell once a day and possibly Facebook if it is raining. We both have very conservative families and live in small, conservative communities in the heartland. Both of us work with the public in healthcare professions. It is really no one else's business what we do on our time off. Our friends know where we are going and they wish they were going, too. Our family and our clients/patients/donors do not need to know...they will make assumptions which could be detrimental to our reputation in this small community. It is just not worth it. There is already speculation because of our summer activities so this would just add fuel to the fire.:whisper:
well, is that not the reason..hell, most of us love our, or kids..but who wants to listen to screaming kids on vacation, especially at breakfast, if you have had to many cocktails the night before
most of our friends and family know...and most of them want to come along! we have very accepting, and curious, friends and family
same as us we tell people where we are going what is there to be ashamed of its an adult resort our friends know what we do so we tell where we are going
We have been using BBG...we told a few of our CLOSE friends BBG/Temptation. What we do behind closed doors is our business. We tell EVERYONE that it IS an adult 21+ resort however...
We have to do a little more explaining now that it's called Temptations but we tell people where we're going. We explain it as not hedo but more risque than your normal family resort. Spring break for adults. They seem to get it when we say that.
It got less "oohs" when it was BBG. We tell people that the two requirements we have to stay somewhere are all-inclusive and that it is adults only. I don't want to worry about the 4 year old too close to the water and I don't want to worry about the 16 year old getting hit on by the 30 year old. Much like you, Theresa, our jobs dictate a level of discretion, so if we tell them, we tell them the old name was BBG but they changed it to market it better and updated some facilities. We just leave the number but not the name in case of emergency, plus, we have our cell phones that we check daily. The reactions you get from some people ARE funny, though.
THat is how I describe it. Then if its a couple I drag the guy away and explain that this is the spring break he wanted not the one he had:icon_lol:
bah! Dont' get me wrong I really don't care about what people think lol. It's just the creepy "ohhhhh you should have fun" from my MOTHER that I would rather do without! lol *shudders*
We just us Blue Bay as our cover. It's so much easier than trying to explain Temptations. We too have jobs that visable and conservative and like to keep our private lives private. BTW, on the emergency number thing-just use your cell phone. Call your cell provider and have them turn on the international capability. The calls per minute are not that expensive. Melinda travels internationally 5-6 times a year and she always uses her cell even in the most remote places. Marsh
