Yea I always need to fully unpack and store the suitcases somewhere. Just makes me feel more like the room is mine for the week, and all the stuff is in it's place. Don't want to look at the suitcases again until it is the sad time I have to everything back in them.

The more trips you learn to pack less... I've heard of some women who can pack everything in a carry on... not me, but I'm thinking about what I did wear this trip and pack it for next and that's it..

I made a list at the end of this last April trip of all the things I did not need.

...Every time I start to pack I start from scratch and make the same over-packing mistakes every bloody time.

...I actually think I could make it into a carry-on ... if it were not for the costumes which now account for half my packing!
...hell the rest of the entire week is the same handful of items ...a few suits...a few shirts...a couple pairs of decent shorts and golf shirts.... um..after that and toiletries ...there not much that is not theme related ...or a gift for the staff.

I live out of the suitcase, but Tab empties what clothes she can into the drawers and the closet...only to have me re-pack most of it later!

I hate living out of a suitcase so I always unpack if the trip is more than 1 night.
I'm going to have to put a little extra thought into this trip. Last time, we unpacked before heading down to the sexy pool. We arrive in the morning this year so I may have to utilize the ziploc bag method because I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get after a full day at the pool.

I always Unpack, hang things up, organize the room and get everything ready. The room either gets looking more and more like a bomb went off or a hurricane zipped through. Then the very last night, before Paty O's, I repack everything we don't need in case of a 'Home Alone' moment of realizing you need to leave for the airport in 5 minutes.

Works for us and I don't think we've left anything behind except warm memories in our new friends hearts. (And possibly our dignity after the last uniform night)

After four trips, we feel like we're finally getting the hang of this. Basically, a few minutes of organization when you check in can save you tons of time for partying later.

    Pre-trip:
All theme night outfits with proper accessories into zip loc baggies; bikinis in another bag

All the other clothes in 2-3 giant zip-loc/vacuum seal bags (the ones where you roll out the air, not the ones you actually need a vacuum cleaner to seal!) Throw a dryer sheet in each bag to help with the musty smell.

First 24-hours worth of clothes, toiletries and theme wear in the carry-on, just in case. Wear a bikini under my clothes, sunscreen in my purse=get to pool faster!

    Upon arrival (10-15 minutes?)
Hang my dresses and Todd's shirts
Plug in the electronics where we want them since we probably won't be able to find the outlets after we drink.
Put bags of toiletries in the bathroom
All the ziplocs with bikinis and theme wear into one drawer
Empty clothes out of the bags into separate drawers (put the dryer sheets in the drawers with them)
Shoes lined up under the shelf
AIWC somewhere it can be grabbed easily
    Shove everything in the safe

    During trip
Once something's worn, shove it back into the big ziplocs still in the suitcases. Save one for wet clothes on the last day

Once home--Take the ziplocs full of dirty clothes to the basement and dump everything right into the laundry!

I have to unpack first, as I don't want to waste time digging through a suitcase for my stuff later on, and it helps unwrinkle my dresses. Plus, the suitcase is the perfect place to put my dirty clothes during the week. I love the baggie idea and will have to try it for November!
