I will admit I thought it was stupid to fake bake. But my wife took me in there and said you are not going to ruin our vacation by getting burnt the first day and being a pain in the ass the rest of the trip. So get your white ass in there. I did it for about a month before we went. I advise on upgrading to the better beds because the time is less spent in there and the quailty of bulbs are better. And it was so worth it. I will do it again before we go on vacation makes it so much better. But 20 min the first time is just fn funny.
Haha classic! I do agree with the prior post though that if you don't have some level of a base tan, you'll spend the time there miserable and in pain...
We bake too because of this same reason. Don't wanna be the Kool-Aid couple, plus he has a bicyclists tan because of the jersey and bike shorts... shes a zookeeper so zookeepers tan (farmer girl tan marks) kinda of funny looking.
I've never faked bake before but due to work the best I have right now is a farmer's tan so unless i can get an opportunity to hit some sunny days, I'll have to fake bake before we go. Now the wife has been a fake baker for years.
We both do as well, definitely helps to get a good base going first instead of looking like a lobster......
I didn't used to, but after our 1st trip to TTR and Chino gave me the nickname "whitey", I certainly do now!!! :icon_wink:
Yes we both do. She couldn't burn if she wanted to, and while there puts only puts on sunscreen on nose and forehead, and dark tanning oil everywhere else, and like FloridaFun, she has olive skin, so she just darkens up quickly. I have to fake bake, as I always burn at least twice to start a summer, then I'm good to go. You definately don't want downtime and not be able to enjoy vacation because of being burnt. So I go about 5-7 times before we go. Then while there I put on 45 sunblock, and have a great tan by the end of the trip. But the key for me, is lots and lots of Aloe Vera gel, at the end of each day, about 4-5 times before the next day. Keeps me from peeling, and heals the tan up quicker.
Dave and I have now been tanning a couple weeks and are getting a decent base so homefully we won't burn too bad while there. SPF 30 or 45 still isn't a bad idea and the aloe vera gell might help too
