If you get a water born bacteria you will sit on the royal throne for days, been there and done that, not fun at all !!!!! But there are many other things that can cause an upset to your stomach. I have also seen the yellow water while there, i dont drink it just brush my teeth and spit it out. And beleive me, I dont have a problem with saying anything bad about the resort, I have said over my share of bad things in the past.
Well I think it's obvious why the resort puts the bottled water in the fridge. They know some guests don't want to chance the water. Water change and food change can upset the system. Have friends who have moved from Cancun to our area and it took them a few weeks for their systems to adapt to our water....... just sayin....... :sofa:
That is absolutely true. Personally I don't care for the taste either. Have well water at home and have found a lot of cities in the US where I think their water taste like shit to me, to drink. Doesn't mean it will make me sick and doesn't mean I can't use it for brushing my teeth. And yes if it comes out of the tap yellow or brown I won't use it. That's common sense. But I also won't post on the web that no one visiting that city should brush their teeth with it cause the water is bad and will make them sick either. That's where I'm having my problem. I make a point of only using and drinking yellow water at TTR. It comes out of the El Presidente tap.
You're suppose to brush your teeth while on vacation? <face palm> Well then, I guess that explains my lack of good luck with the ladies!
Reviewing the thread again, Jamie expanded on the idea and is right. At TTR, I think we're OK to use the resort's water, generally, my opinion, backed up by those above who didn't get sick, etc. But, venturing out, off the resort, there's no telling if their water is properly filtered by US/Canadian/European standards or not. So, do be careful. I agree witht he idea that lots of folks who end up sick at the resort are actually reacting to changes, not getting a special version of Montezuma's Revenge. Shoot, it might be the flu on the plane down that did it to them.
