Do not drink or brush teeth with the tap water!!!

We were there all last week. We drank and brushed our teeth with the tap water and did not get sick.

 

Been 8 times and always used the tap water to brush our teeth, never had an issue!

 

We are not being paranoid. Sorry, where we come from we don't drink yellow water. How can anybody think or say that is ok? We love TTR, don't take it the wrong way, it's out fifth trip but we think it is only fair to let people know. Just because some people don't get sick from drinking yellow tap water doesn't mean that it is ok for everyone.

If you read my response to your post, you would see that I said yellow water was not good and should be reported to the front desk. I don't eat yellow snow or drink yellow water. So yes, you had a problem with yellow water and it needed to be taken care of. I would not have used the yellow water either.

But where we have a problem with your post is to condemn the entire water system at TTR because you had yellow water in one room. The water at the resort is safe. That faucet wasn't and needed to be addressed.

Had you gotten sick from the water you would still be sick. Several years ago Chris got sick from eating washed salad at a restaurant stop on a tour. She started throwing up within 24 hours and it took her six weeks to get over it, even after she got back. So when you say you had an upset stomach for a night, I doubt that it was from the water.

So again I don't doubt that you got ill, I don't doubt you had yellow water that needed to be addressed, I do have a problem with generalizations that tend to scare people when they don't need to be.

We have been to Cancun 4x at sister resort and use bottled water to brush teeth.

 

It is not a generalization. Some people have never been anywhere before. We have been to Mexico 13 times together and we always appreciate any info we can get about a resort good or bad. That doesn't mean we take it all to heart but we do take things into consideration and arm ourselves with as much knowledge as possible. Some people are REALLY defensive on this forum and only want to hear all the positive it seems? I don't think that is fair.

 

I'm sorry.. you're right... since you had yellow water and an upset stomach... the water HAS to be BAD! The fact that no one else has gotten sick from the water doesn't matter at all. Your experience trumps all.

And contrary to popular belief we don't hate negatives about TTR, just miss-information.
