Steve, I have the US Dishnet system that Mike mentioned and my monthly rate with HBO, ABC CBS NBC FOX and a million other channels is $79 a month.

Hey people, sorry for the long time and all that, been busy working and sorting out Visa and it looks like im staying!

Anyways, i'm very interested in a Dish TV system as although i have sky, i cant take the amount of times when things are supposed to have an English option and they don't, sometimes i've been watching a program and it switches to Spanish half way through and it doesn't come back till then end and i haven't pressed the button! Sport is the worst, you used to get UEFA champions league in English, although very dodgy commentators i could understand them and they sing alot less than the Argentian/Mexican ones but now only Tennis has an English/Spanish option! BBC America sounds interesting, unfortunately Steve i think it's impossible to have a system giving English channels without some very special equipment and a satellite in the Sky in the right place, when i had a 30 inch dish and all non sky equipment in the UK, I wanted american TV but the specialist said it's not possible because of the way the world is or something, might have been bullshitting me because he struggled to get the football for me and i ended up with Arabian commentators on Art Sports, although i got games no one else i knew did, which was great.

I think Dish TV may be better for what sports you get too as sometimes on ESPN/FOX theres british events like Boxing, Rugby and certain football matches they don't deem important enough to show, plus if anyone here follows football then they may have noticed the schedules are all messed up and they don't show as many live games as they used to and you can never rely on what the online guide says!

Also, i would love to know the names of the films, my Spanish is getting alot better but half the time i don't know what the programs are and miss good things and the synopsis on anything here are very very poor, they give you a general statement on what Smallville is, never what happens in that show or the series and episode numbers like you get in the UK, stuff that is important to some people.

Phew, had my rant about Sky, I hated them in the UK, hate them more here!

Some PM me please, I need to talk to Sky to find out how i can get out of this jail sentance they have on me though.

    Sky and Dish

Gonzo -After the clubbing, the booze cruise, the nude cruise and the beach bash, some people just like to take a night off and snooze in front of the tube.

Even if American TV is, as was said many years ago, a vast wasteland, it shines brightly in comparison to the hell that is Sky Mexico. Until you've lived with the incredible incompetence that is Sky, from the installation process, to the messed up, out of lip synch, incorrectly formatted audio and video, to 1970's style slapstick comedy complete with cross-dressing clowns, to commercials 8 dB louder than program levels, to having the chief engineer of Sky Mexico explain to you that Mexican engineers have a difficult time getting English in synch, you can't appreciate American TV.

If you want a technical explanation, PM me as I don't want to be a bore on the board.

SamCancun- Hodamayo's been mentioned a zillion times as the go-to guy for Dish network. Back up through this thread. If you can't find him, PM me and I'll send you his contact info.

    Happy Camper

I'm really happy with the system that hodamayo set up for me. I get high definition on some channels and all my programing is in American english. No longer do I have to sit thru 15 spanish commercials between contestants on American Idol. We get the current Dancing with the stars, Survivor, American Idol, Dog Whisperer, the Voom HD programs, all the cooking and other shows like This Old House, Fine Living, 30 Min. Meals, etc. It was worth every penny! :p
