That's really a bummer, I know both of us enjoy the theme nights and after 10 or so trips to Desire & Temptation we pretty much have all the bases covered! The Mrs likes to dress up so I just tag along, 99% of the people are looking at the ladies anyway......except that one security guard, lol.

We were at TTR Nov 14-21, and theme participation was around maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the peeps at Paty O's.

We participated in the themes - everyone was having a great time

:DFirst of all, I think your inflatable ostrich costume sounds amazing!

It is really frustrating to spend the money, really look forward to the craziness, and then have a theme fall flat.

We've been six times: three Junes (mid and late), one early October, and two end of March. Each time has had a different vibe. It's always going to be a crap shoot not only how many people participate, but how elaborate they're going to be. And some people's idea of great participation (Twenty of us all wore white shirts!:huepfen013:) is other people's idea of lame (There were just 20 people, and all they did was throw on a white shirt!)

We're like you--"go big or go home" theme people, and we go to TTR mainly because we love the theme thing and how it creates a sense of unity. We've found that one thing that helps is talking up the theme at the pool during the day. Arrange a meet-up (we like to meet at the quiet pool bar) so you can all walk into Paty O's together. We've seen that once a group enters in costume, others who were testing the waters will go up and change so they can join in.

I'm a repeater, but I still like to shop, so I've got multiple outfits for some themes. I bring them all, and gladly share with people who didn't know about or bring anything for the theme (Yay! New friends!) So,why not throw a couple extra accessories in the bag and dress up some newbies?

We been to TTR every July for the last 4 years and there's always decent participation. Of course, every night is different. Some themes are more popular than others, and any night after the infamous Boobs Cruise can be a bit slow, as many won't make it out that night. Regardless, the Nakify July group always brings it! Many theme nights are generated through CCC, but many are also hosted directly by the hotel. Those are the ones that seem to get the most participation....white night, sexy red dress night, Sexy leather, ABC, etc. Only once have I been disappointed with low participation and it was due to rain.

If you love theme nights, don't give up on TTR. There are several times a year that large repeat groups go.....April Addicts, June Junkies, Nakify July, and Hotties and Hellraisers in October. We would love to have you in July!! --Ginger

Well, it made an impact, to say the least. At breakfast the next morning, our friends got approached by some strangers, asking if they were partying with "Chicken Man" the night before. It was an ostrich, dammit, but close enough :)

We're thinking June or July this year (easier with the little ones in school), but might go back to DRM instead. Honestly, we can't decide. TTR is so much less expensive, but DRM's nights were WAY more fun. Maybe if we hook up with a better group this year, TTR would be more our cup of tea.

One thing DRM did better was to offer prizes for the theme nights. There was a group there at the same time as us, and they had their own contests too. Event organizers out there should consider that - even the smallest of prizes (t-shirts, mugs, etc.) would get people more in the spirit.

Thanks, Ginger. We're thinking about trying it again this summer, in June or July. We'll get in touch if we come back!

We have been to TTR on four separate occasions and have found that the best time for theme night participation was the first two weeks of October..........the "Octoberbreast" group is great fun and more dress up than not !

That's a great idea with a few simple prizes or giveaways on theme nights. Anything from a bubba mug to a sexy tee shirt would work.

We love dressing up for the theme nights. It can be very sexy, and it's just a lot of fun. In fact, on the one occasion we didn't dress up we felt a little left out of the party. It gets you in the party mood, and it's fun to see what others come up with as well.
