either that or let them join you at their table. Many times they are tables for 4 or more and only 2 people are sitting at them
My main complaint, only staying 3 nights April 12 13 14 First night is no go, then they are booked,,,,,,, Would like to actually go to the restaurants, Someone help us!!!
Premier members I believe get priority reservations,,as do Drops of love Package. All they have to do is pick up the phone Make friends with one of them and they could book for you. One year we were three couples and took turns booking for 6, worked great
We were really disappointed by the reservations system as well. Sept '11 was out first trip and we became Premier Members within 24 hours. But that didn't seem to help us at all with reservations. (Maybe I was doing it wrong) In 5 nights we could only get 1 reservation, which was at the Asian restaurant and was very good. The reservation was for the 6 of us that flew down together. We had met a couple at the pool that day that wanted to join us so they came along, just in case they could get in with us. They allowed the extra couple with no problems. Only one other couple was dining the entire time we were there. That was frustrating to see because it probably meant that we missed out on all the other nights that we could have gone. I imagine the reservations are limited to keep the food cost down. I did feel like I needed to order the items on the menu that were for 'premier members only', just because I could.
We'll help if we can! We should get there before noon on the 10th, if we do we will make reservations and you can either join us or take ours.
I've been to other AI resorts and it's always the same story: they will say they are "full" when you can see that half the tables are empty. I was at the RIU Palace in Cabo, and they told me that they only make enough food for the number of tables that are reserved, and no amount of cajoling would get us in the door. My theory is that they only allow bookings for half the restaurant because the food is more expensive than at the buffet, and more staff is required to prepare and serve it. That's my theory anyway!
I think you hit the nail on the head. I thought I read somewhere that the theme restaurants at most AI's are privately run and apart from the resort. Maybe the resort pays the restaurant for each meal it serves. Thats why sometimes they just "conveniently" run out of the most expensive items on the menu.
