When the whole gay marriage debate was going on here in Mass, you would have thought that we were trying to make it legal to sacrifice small children on the front lawn.
There have been studies regarding human sexuality that show a correlation between being homophobic and being turned on by homosexual pornography. I could dig up some references if you want me to, I learned this in a Psychology class in college. I still have that text book somewhere... Studies also show that most people, the majority, are at least somewhat turned on by porn from the other orientation. There's a lot of support for the idea that most people are somewhat bi even if they never act on it or think about themselves that way. I think society kind of pushes us to be straight or gay, but what's actually natural for us might not be as strictly defined as being one or the other. Anyway it's often true that the people who put the most energy into bashing the gay "lifestyle" (what a stupid word) are more likely to be measurably turned on by gay porn. When you tell people who are homophobic that voicing their homophobia reveals their homosexual tendencies they tend to shut up. Which is good, they need to shut up.
RG Appreciate your thoughts but...as "tolerant" (judgemental observationj) as I am, there is absolutely ZERO percent of my being that is not hetero. I think of it as pure DNA and there is nothing I can do about it or would want to. Psychology is still theory and physiology is....physiology. I might have to admit that it is different for different people but I can't relate because I am what I am....
Dougout - These are not my tolerant "thoughts," just something that was taught very concisely in a psychology class. The professor was a sex researcher with a Ph.D in Psychology and well-respected in her field.
