That's the way to do it. Many people make the mistake of trying to make abrupt changes then find it very difficult to make it stick. That is true of diet and exercise as well as weight. Most people benefit more from gradual change. Cut the carbs a bit this month, and a bit more the next month. It's like anything else that can be hard, ease into it and build up over time. Afterall, you don't go from couch potato to marathon runner. You start slow and progress.
Lots of advice here and I offer this. Hungry for change. Hungry For Change Official Home Page - A Food Matters Film Not necessary to buy anything - It's an intro only but the video hits some key issues on what we eat as a society and how it's not real food. If you can. Eat with the intention for nutritional health and to enable your body to recover to its natural state. Supplement if you need to recover from past illness or cannot get what's needed through your diet. Get a blood test and see where you are at and then go learn what the optimum level should be. Love eating food and don't feel guilty when you make mistakes. Give in occasionally but don't give up. C U Poolside !
Someone talk to me about those things !! Garcinia Cambogia Extract For Weight Loss | Garcinia Cambogia Did someone try it ?
No. I have not tried it, but... Gambooge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A 1998 randomized controlled trial looked at the effects of hydroxycitric acid, the purported active ingredient in gambooge, as a potential antiobesity agent in 135 people. The conclusion from this trial was that "Garcinia cambogia failed to produce significant weight loss and fat mass loss beyond that observed with placebo" I'm afraid there is no magic bean for weight loss. It is a matter of consuming fewer calories than you burn. It is that simple at the basic level. You have to cut food, increase activity level and eat better foods: preferably a combination of all three for most of us. And most definitely do it in a gradual fashion if you expect the changes to stick. That said, they could help. No harm in adding them into a plan that includes the changes I mentioned (quantity, activity and quality). They could be part of the quality. Better them than a twinkie

On the topic of weight loss, I (danny) am doing a weight loss challenge with Dietbet.com that starts tomorrow and ends July 5th. You put $25 in the pot and anyone who loses 4% of their body weight over the 4 weeks splits the pot- so everyone can win! The pot is almost at a thousand dollars right now so to say I'm motivated is an understatement, I want some new clothes for the trip! If you want an invite, message me your email address! I've been trying to get in shape for my July trip to TTR since January and I'm down 28 pounds so far. Mainly eating clean(er), counting calories and exercise. My goal is to lose another 10 before my trip at the end of July
Losing 6 pounds in a week is quite a lot. I understand that people want to see results, but real results that stick with you will mostly come from gradual loss (around a pound per week) and permanent changes to diet. You don't have to permanently cut calories as you do when you are losing, but going from 1000 calories short of maintenance to 800 or more over will lead to the the yoyo. From reading a pound of fat is ~3500 calories. They say that if you eat 500 fewer calories per day than you need to maintain your weight you'll lose roughly 1 pound per week. Of course when you increase your activity level you increase the number of calories required to maintain your weight, so you may not need to cut much to see weight loss. Everyone is different though. So what works for you can be found through trial and error. There are some more universal guidelines, one big one being the need for permanent change to be gradual. You can still crash diet for a special occassion, just don't be too dispirited to see a lot of those pounds come back.
Lol yep and mine is retarded ( my body ) lol! Since 2 years ago! Oh well i start the dietbet starting tomorrow affer 4 weeks will see Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I started Paleo almost 3 weeks ago and I've lost 11lbs. It took the entire first week of tweaking it to be 100% paleo but its works. Three days without grains, soda and sugar and my midsection shrank two inches. ALL Bloat. I eat very healthy, drink a lot of water and exercise little. To be fair I work in a HOT kitchen and i'm on my feet all day and moving constantly..so that is the majority of my "exercise". It works for me right now..may not be liveable for others. I started it for health reasons and losing weight is just an AWESOME side effect. PS.. giving up my water enhancer MIO was probably the hardest.
Christy, congrats on your weight loss. My husband and I do crossfit and they recommend the paleo diet. In January I did the ideal protein diet and lost about 38 pounds and here months later I have kept it off. That includes an 8 day trip to TTR. I came back and my weight stayed the same! Just remember to make healthier choices and keep up the good work. Being healthy is so important! Mrs Ajay...
