Yes he was staying at TTR. He was a group of four men and apparently they were out on a cruise (not boob cruise) and he drowned. The waters were pretty rough the day we were out on Boobs Cruise. His brother was a really nice guy and sad to see it happen. We are no way related to the family other than meeting them at TTR. I did find their go fund me page https://www.gofundme.com/4zvrz6k4
We were 90 mins south on Easter and the ocean water was EXTREMELY rough with very tough currents. Lifeguards at our beach were not letting people go out past their waist (spelling corrected)
this is really sad. We went snorkeling off Cozumel in October, and I know for sure if I'd had gotten into trouble I would have been in deep doodoo...."guide" was busy swimming for the most part, and I doubt he had any lifesaving experience. If it's choppy, not snorkeling plain and simple.
This happened on the TTR booze cruise while we were there. Friends were on the boat when it happened. So sad.
Very sad....even some of the strongest are no match for a bad rip tide. Be careful out there everyone! Prayers for his family and all of those who were impacted by his death.
I did the skinny dip off the boat on the Boobs Cruise and have to say it was a little rough out there. Got back and was feeling more than a little tired after my time in the water, I also consider myself a fairly strong swimmer but I felt like I'd gone a couple of rounds with a boxer, the water was not what I'd consider choppy but I was sure glad to have that boat back under my butt. A terrible tragedy and our hearts go out to his family and friends.
