Our last trip to DRM we heard as part of another member's upgrade pitch that there is going to be another, new Desire resort at the "north" end of the Hotel-ish region in Cancun itself, which will become the main place for "new" people to go to get the Desire experience, apparently. The other thought which was apparently spread around was that DRM itself was going to go Members-Only, as in, if you ain't a Premier Member, you can't go at all. THAT idea got some very mixed reviews around the hot tub, let me tell you. As to the quality of the resort, the construction itself at DRM is dated, much as TTR was. Rooms are small, laid out weird, etc. It couldn't be fixed or upgraded without a massive renovation project which would likely have it down for at least (judging by TTR) a year. I'd prefer that, if they did go that route, that they went ahead and did it right the firs time and took 18 months to a 2 year time frame. If not, don't even worry about it. The, literal, only time in the room is: A) sleep (sometimes); B) sex (often); and/or C) Showers (at least 3x a day. You can do all of those out of your room at DRM too, so it's a bit confusing. If you went to DRM and stay in your room... you are wasting your money.
