j Unfortunately, the chain of events went like this: -He had chest pains and was rushed to the hospital last week. -they put stints in 2 of the 3 found blocked arteries, but couldn't do the last one due to inflammation. -Friday they put in the third stint, and for some reason... sent him home. -5am saturday morning his wife woke up when she heard a thud, looked over, he wasn't there. She found him on the floor unresponsive with no pulse or breathing. Called a neighbor who performed CPR and brought him back. Rushed him to the hospital. He has some degree of heart damage and brain damage. No one else was there when I visited at lunch. He's going crazy in that bed. Very independent man, confined to a bed, and can't communicate due to limited motor function and no speech. I knew he wanted to respond to me but he just couldn't. he's only 58. Get your physicals. and learn CPR.
Everyone should be CPR certified....it only takes a few hours :!: :!: The fact that he recognized you is a very good sign :!: I was hoping he had the stroke at the hospital....they still may have been able to give him the proper meds...sending good thoughs your way :!:
Dennis, sorry to hear about your friend. Hopefully he can recover. I work in the Medical field and strokes are a very strange thing. You never know how someone will recover. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family
