I can't imagine them going to a Disney style band because they are very protective over their wristbands. They place them on your wrist and remove them on checkout. They don't want anyone using them who's not supposed to. However the microchips in the room keys are not that big. There is no reason they couldn't make a much smaller key and make it a solid loop that the resort could run your wristband through. Think of it like a charm on a bracelet but its a key to your room. They could be reused from one wristband to another and there is no extra cost on fancy wristbands. Everyone wins. We just always got a Jacuzzi room and hid the key on the patio lol.

 

Temptation is the same way if you loose you band, it cost you but it would be so much better if they did that instead of the card
