    My understanding is the centre part will still be built. It's being built last because it is the only road access to the site and they need to get materials and equipment in and out without the physical barrier the central construction would create.

    Makes perfect sense. Don't build a building in the middle of the road you need to get the shit to the front of the hotel or you would have to bring it all in by boat. Thanks for the updates Steve.

    Except for the fact the first floor and that drive up ramp is in place in the front of the building, unless that's what they are using the ramp for, if so it's still one floor off grade and the sexy pool is now right behind that area, so much for driving or getting building materials to the rear of the site thru that center section, I'm pretty sure that's what they are using the tower crane for.

    The drive up ramp leads to the entrance of what will be the lobby, the ground floor rooms in areas adjacent to the ramp will be the offices. The tower crane, in its current position, doesn't even reach to the concrete ramp so I guarantee this is how they are getting materials in and out. The tower crane is used to move them onwards/upwards within the site.

    Besides how are they going to get the tower crane out if they build that centre section? Dismantle it into a zillion pieces so it can be carried by hand through the lobby? I don't think so. I expect they will move the crane to a location in front of the concrete ramp when it has finished it's usefulness in its current location, and that's when you'll see the centre section built.

    Tower cranes break down into some pretty small pieces that are of little weight, that's how they are erected when they go up and that's how they come back down hopefully if all goes to plan. Except for the concrete base it sits on which is usually left behind the heaviest part of a tower crane is the movable counter weight at the rear end of the jib and at that it isn't really that heavy, it's all a balancing act with these type of cranes. Generally contractors want the tower crane to reach the whole building and construction site.

    Ok, so you think they are going to build the centre section before they take the crane down and then lug the pieces through the lobby by hand. :confused:

    I guess we'll have to beg to differ on that and see what happens.

    Steve LOL I doubt they are going to be carting the crane through the lobby, but time will tell.:rolleyes: I know the TTR construction site is tight but they have to get another crane in there to disassemble the tower crane and then truck it out, I'm thinking they have a access point to the street somewhere else. Maybe they should just leave the tower crane there and turn it into the largest stripper pole in Cancun.:cool:
